Each year, current Waldorf College students can submit their poems and prose to the The Salveson Prizes in Poetry and Prose.
Named after the founder of Waldorf College, C.S. Salveson, the Salveson Prizes in Poetry and Prose honor outstanding poems and exceptional pieces of prose with a monetary award and publication in Waldorf Literary Review: A Journal of Engaged Writing. All contest decisions are made by outside judges, who are esteemed writers and teachers.

To the High School Writing Contest:
Waldorf Regional High School Writing Contest: In 2014, Waldorf College initiated an annual high school writing contest in the North Iowa region. Seniors were given the opportunity to win cash prizes in two categories–poetry and prose–and first-place winners were offered Waldorf College scholarships.
This contest now extends to Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen, who have been invited to submit their creative writing by a separate deadline. All participants who are not at the Senior level will make a visit to the Waldorf campus for a one-day workshop in late spring, where cash prizes will be offered along with certificates for participation.
